Geoffrey L. Baum is executive director of Michelson Philanthropies, a network of private operating foundations founded by Dr. Gary K. Michelson. Michelson Philanthropies include the Michelson 20MM Foundation, Michelson Found Animals Foundation, Michelson Medical Research Foundation, and the Michelson Center for Public Policy. Before joining Michelson in 2020, Geoff served in senior leadership roles at the University of Southern California, Claremont McKenna College, C-SPAN, the Annenberg Foundation Trust at Sunnylands, and the Milken Institute. An energetic advocate for public higher education, he served for twelve years on the California Community Colleges board of governors, including two terms as president, where he was twice appointed by the Governor of California and unanimously confirmed by the California State Senate with bipartisan support. He was an elected governing board member of Pasadena City College from 2001 to 2013, including two terms as president. He holds an M.A. in Journalism from the University of Southern California and a B.A. in Economics from Claremont McKenna College and is currently pursuing an MBA from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business.
